Copying Bible Lesson

What Do You Think She Should Do?

Jeanie is pretty frustrated this Sunday morning. Every night she reads a little bit of her Bible class lesson and scriptures. On Saturday she fills out the questions in her class book so she will be ready for class and be able to discuss the lesson and ask questions that came up in her home study.

Leslie is in Jeanie’s class. Every Sunday Leslie comes in and asks to see Jeanie’s book. She then copies Jeanie’s answers into her book. Sometimes, when she is late, she will ask for Jeanie’s book to read the answer. One time, 5 people read answers from her book in class.

What do you think Jeanie should do?

“Is That All?”

Billy is used to getting the things that he wants. On his birthday parties and at Christmas his parents would buy him lots of presents. The only problem was that he never seemed happy with all the things that he received. No matter how many presents they bought, he would always ask “Is that all?” or would whine because he did not get another present that he wanted. He did not seem thankful for what he had.

Why do you think he acts like this?

How would you suggest helping him appreciate the things without always wanting more?

Are You Chicken?

What Would You Do?
Ken and Larry were standing in the hall at school and noticed a red handle that, when pulled, would set off the fire alarm. Ken dared Larry to pull the handle and run away—he said it would be funny. When Larry did not do it, Ken said he was a “chicken” if he would not do it.

  • Why was Ken’s choice smart?
  • How should you answer when someone dares you to do something wrong?
  • Why do you think someone would dare you to do wrong?
  • God Made This Day!

    “This is the day the LORD has made;
We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:4

Every day is a blessing from God. Every day we have a chance to learn new things, have fun, spend time with family and friends, and live a life that pleases God. We should treat every day as a special gift.

Just like anything we receive for free, we can forget what a precious thing life is and take it for granted. After a person has suffered a terrible life-threatening disease or been in an accident that could have killed them, they often talk about how thankful they are for each day and how they do not want to waste their time left on earth.

We should thank God for each day we are given and use our time wisely. We do not live for ourselves alone but live to glorify God in our lives.

Though things may not go well some days and we may be sad, it is still a good day because the Lord made it and we can pray to God to help us make the right choices and to help the day go better.

If you always find ways to be unhappy, each day will be sad for you. Look for the good things that make each day special.
The Lord made this day for you. Are you happy about it? What are you going to do with this day?

Your Sin Will Find You Out

“Your sin will find you out.” Numbers 32:23

Sometimes children will act right when their parents are around but misbehave when they leave. Some students only behave when the teacher is in the room.

Though the parent or the teacher may not see all the wrong things done, God always sees and knows who is obeying Him.

However, often the people that these children and students try to fool know of their misbehavior. Someone might tell the teacher about the person’s wrongdoing. The person may say or do something that lets the teacher or parent know that they did wrong. If we do wrong, we may think no one knows may be wrong.

The passage in Numbers warns that a person’s sins will find him out. Though he may try to escape from them and wish that he did not sin, God knows and will punish the wrongdoer. Instead of being stubborn and trying to hide our sin, we need to tell God that we know we did wrong and ask Him to forgive us.

Even when God forgives us we may still have to suffer a penalty for our sin. A person who steals may feel sorry and return what is stolen but may also have to be punished for stealing. A person who hits someone but says he is sorry may still have to be punished for hitting the other person.

We will not always do the right thing but when we sin, we need to ask God’s forgiveness because we cannot escape our sin.
