Where Do Your Decisions Take You?

Bible Study

Do you realize that your decisions are steps on a road? Every choice you make either leads you closer to God or moves you further away from Him.

Instead of just asking if a single decision is right or wrong, look at the bigger picture: what kind of person are you becoming?

As a result of our choices, we are turning ourselves either into heavenly creatures or hellish creatures. (Paraphrased from C. S. Lewis)

The Power of Small Choices

People who get trapped in sin can usually trace their path back to a series of small, bad choices. On the other hand, those who live exemplary (worthy of imitation) lives can point to specific moments where they resisted temptation.

Even decisions that seem small at the time can have a massive impact on the direction of your life. These tiny choices ultimately bring either blessings or deep sorrows.

Turning Back to God

Fortunately, we can always choose to turn away from sin and start making better choices.

However, the longer we continue down a bad path, the harder it is to break those habits. A sinful lifestyle becomes comfortable, making it difficult to change.

If you are struggling, remember that God is powerful, loving, and merciful (forgiving and compassionate). He will give you the strength and comfort you need when you strive to return to Him.

Start Today

Young people, start making good decisions today.

Read Ecclesiastes 11 and 12 for wisdom on starting early. Making wise choices now will help you become more like Christ and protect you from the guilt and sorrow of a life of sin.
