Trust God Completely And You Can Face Anything

Although you are starting to build a life independent from your family, you will never live a life independent from God’s rule.

Every day, you face a critical choice. Will you trust God completely and enjoy His love and care? Or will you follow your own desires and face the painful consequences?

Living a life of trust in God brings confidence, comfort, and true contentment. By following Him, you can avoid the self-inflicted pain that comes from poor choices. Most importantly, you can face life’s hardest trials knowing you are never alone.

Trust Requires Complete Dedication

Trusting God requires centering your entire life around Him. Think of it like a base jumper leaping off a cliff. They must trust their parachute, their preparation, and their gear to bring them safely to the ground.

Similarly, we can study the Bible and do good things, but eventually, we have to take that leap of faith. We must make God the center of every decision we make.

The real test of trust comes when God commands us to do something we don’t want to do. It is easy to obey when our desires align with God’s, but true faith means obeying even when we want to take a different path.

We must trust God with our whole heart and mind. The book of Proverbs 3:5-8 urges us:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones. (ESV)

Facing Any Challenge

With this deep level of trust, you can face any challenge—even the threat of death. In 2 Timothy 1:12, the apostle Paul explained that he was not ashamed of being in prison. He was ready to face execution because he knew exactly whom he trusted.

This confidence changes how we view danger. It is why the psalmist in Psalm 23:4 could walk through “the valley of the shadow of death” (a metaphor for terrifying, dangerous trials) without fear. God’s rod and staff (symbols of His protection and guidance) bring ultimate peace.

Trust That God’s Way is Right

Do not get caught up in your own understanding. The wisdom of the Bible comes from an eternally wise God. It has been proven true for thousands of years. It is not the invention of humans or the shifting opinions of modern culture.

Relying solely on our own limited perspective usually leads to foolishness, and sometimes even ruin. You do not need to experience sin firsthand to know that it is harmful. Trust that God’s laws are designed for your absolute best.

Avoiding sin is the path to true joy and long-term peace. Do not let the world deceive you.

Trust God completely. He will take care of you, guide your steps, and work all things together for your good.
