Play Ball! Or Not?

Bible Study

Play Ball! Or Not?

Imagine you are in a tough situation. You play baseball, and you are one of the star players on your team.

Your team has played incredibly well all year, and you are on the verge of making the playoffs. You have only one game left, and it is against your main rivals. The winner of this final game goes to the playoffs, while the loser goes home.

Unfortunately, the game is scheduled for Wednesday night. You know you should not miss your church’s midweek Bible study, but your coach pulls you aside. He tells you that this is the most important game of the year and the entire team is depending on you. He reminds you of how hard everyone has worked all season for this moment.

He looks at you and says:

“After all, what will missing just one service hurt?”

This situation forces you to choose between your commitment to your team and your commitment to God. How would you handle this pressure?
