The Pool Party
Jill was invited by her junior high classmates to a girls-only pool party.
These friends often gathered at Jen’s house because she had a private pool surrounded by a large fence. The girls planned to swim, talk, and listen to the radio.
An Unexpected Change
After about an hour, Jen announced that some boys from school wanted to come over and swim with them. Jen thought it would be great.
However, Jill did not feel comfortable with this change. She did not feel her swimwear would be appropriate if boys were present.
None of the other girls seemed to mind the boys coming. Jill worried that if she spoke up, her friends would think she was weird.
