Cleaning The Church Building

Bible StudyWorship & Prayer

Sometimes young people think there are very few ways they can serve God. However, that is not true! There are many practical ways to serve, starting with how we treat the church building.

After services are over, someone has the job of cleaning the facility. Some congregations hire a cleaning service, while others rely entirely on volunteers. Either way, cleaning such a large building is a big, time-consuming job.

How You Can Help

You can make a difference by taking responsibility for your own space. A simple way to show respect for God’s house is to clean up after yourself.

Here are a few quick things you can do after every service:

  • Clean your seating area: Pick up any candy wrappers, tissues, crayons, or scrap paper.
  • Take your materials home: Make sure to gather your Bible class book, worksheets, and personal belongings.
  • Respect the hymnals: Put your songbooks back in their racks properly, ensuring page markers are tucked inside.
  • Pick up stray trash: If you see litter in the hallways or out in the parking lot, pick it up and throw it away.

These small actions are incredibly helpful to the people who prepare the building for the next worship service. We are blessed to have a comfortable place to meet, and we should do our part to take care of it.
