A Life of Injustice
This month, we have been studying Joseph in our church Bible class. He was a truly fascinating man.
Even in his youth, Joseph never lost his trust in God. This is remarkable when you consider everything he endured:
- He was almost killed by his own brothers.
- He was sold as a slave to foreigners.
- He was thrown into prison on completely false charges.
- He was forgotten by a released prisoner he had helped.
- He lived in Egypt, a land full of idolatry (the worship of false gods).
God’s Greater Purpose
Joseph did not understand how God could make all of these painful trials work out for good. However, later in life, he saw the bigger picture. God used this series of unfortunate events to preserve Joseph’s family and fulfill His ancient promises to Abraham.
When you face troubles or feel like life is not going your way, remember Joseph.
Have confidence that God is always at work. Even when we do not understand what He is doing, we can trust that His plans are designed for our spiritual growth. As the scripture promises:
“…all things work together for good to those who love God…”
He never forgets His children.
